To be an international student, you must:
1. Pay $500 for medical or travel insurance.
2. Pay another $170 for visa applications.
3. Get your lungs checked every 24 months for tuberculosis and go through bloody expensive test procedures.
4. Pay super expensive tuition fees, that you would think 'why not just buy a house and retire for good?'. My thoughts exactly.
5. You're not liable for any scholarships if you're an international undergraduate.
6. You are not guaranteed anything.
7. No Kiwisaver!
8. No Studylink!
9. No Community Service card!
And yes, it does often make me want to shake the Permanent Resident status on the shoulders, and shout "WHERE IS MINE?"
Enough of that. :)
Moving on to the brighter things in life, I got a wee test to prepare for next week! Just two weeks into the course!!
Don't you love med?
